PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Quality learning outcomes for students result when both home
and school cooperatively support this endeavour. St Augustine
's is a family-friendly school where parents are welcomed and
encouraged to actively participate in all areas of school and
parish life.
NEWSLETTERS
A newsletter is sent home each week to each family via the eldest
child at school. This enables parents to be aware of events
taking place at the school. Notices will often be distributed
requiring replies, (e.g. excursion) and prompt replies are very
important.
MONEY
Any money brought to school should be in a sealed envelope clearly
labelled with the child's name, grade and purpose on it. Envelopes
are placed in the Office or Parent Group boxes.
VISITOR'S PASS
Any visitors to the school, including parents, are requested
to obtain and wear a Visitor's Badge when in the school (with
the exception of immediately before and after school). These
passes are available from the office, where you will be asked
to 'sign' in. These precautions are for the safety of your child
(and your own, in the case of emergency).
LATE PASS
We appreciate children being at school before the bell; however
we realize that in some cases, you may be delayed. The children
and parents are requested to call at the office to collect a
Late Pass which needs to be signed by parents.
EMERGENCY CONTACT
Emergency information necessary to enable contact with parents
or other persons in case of accident/illness is kept in the
office. Please ensure that all information given about your
child is kept up to date. Notify the school office, without
delay, if address or telephone numbers of employment, emergency
contact (parents, neighbour, friends) or Doctor are changed.
The importance of this information cannot be stressed too much.
PUPIL VALUABLES
The school discourages children from bringing valuables to the
school and will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage.
BELONGINGS/LOST PROPERTY
/PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING
A quick look at our lost property box will show why this is
essential. We cannot follow up un-named articles and children
frequently have difficulty recognising their own clothes.
CAR PARKING
Please drive carefully in the school grounds. Parking is available
in marked areas and we ask that you do not leave your car if
waiting in the drive through.
REPORTS ON PROGRESS
A parent may arrange an interview to discuss any concern relating
to the pupil's progress with the relevant teacher at any time.
Parent/Teacher interviews are held mid year.
Times are also offered in first term and at the end of the year.
Written reports will be sent home mid year and at the end of
each year.
